If we would call Salzburg a city of panoramic viewpoints, it wouldn’t be an exaggeration at all. In fact, a whole day can be spent in finding these best views from various points in Salzburg. While some are easily reachable by the cable cars, others can be accessed by beautiful and secluded hiking trails. Salzburg’s ideal location on the bank of the river Salzach tucked in between two steep hilly range makes it offer a number of viewpoints right within the city.
Cologne, a German city with 2000 years old history, leaves an impeccable impression on the mind of a curious traveller. The ruins of Roman Era, a beautiful river view, the third tallest cathedral in the world, museums, riverside restaurants and the centuries-old colourful buildings decked on the harbour of River Rhine; they all make this city a cultural hub of Western Europe. Definitely, just one day trip is not enough to experience this city of carnivals and varied cultures. However, you can make the best of your one day trip to Cologne provided that you start early.
This huge Beer Hall teeming with tourists hides some interesting facts not only in its historic legends but also in its architecture. Hofbrauhaus is certainly a clichéd touristy place for the locals. During the Oktober fest, it is brimming with the crazy beer lovers. Copenhagen is too difficult to explore in just one visit. In this case, this brilliantly planned city offers some of the best things to do and places to explore. You can cycle to and around many nearby locations or can take the Copenhagen Card to have unlimited access to the public transport. Though there are a number of free things to do on a shoe-string budget, there a few places and things worth spending some money.
There is an end number of things to do in Copenhagen. You can keep a check on the official “Visit Copenhagen” site to keep a track of the number of events and street concerts before you head for an exploration.

As you walk past Ring Strasse, a famous street in the favourite musical city of Mozart, an avenue of ornate baroque buildings wouldn’t fail to enchant you. In addition to it, the alluring aroma of hot Viennese coffee would also accompany you on your walk. Vienna is a not so expensive city if you spend and take your travel decisions mindfully. I had not opted for the Vienna Pass as I knew that I would never be able to visit all the mind-blowing museums and attractions of this city just in 3 days. Copenhagen, the city that cares more about the cyclists also boasts of being the first country to depend majorly on natural sources of energies. The city that was once the home of Hans Christian Anderson, has still retained the beautiful sceneries as a memorial of his writings. A disturbingly quiet rhythm of the city mesmerised me initially. Then it became a routine to be in such tranquillity. It is so surprising that the world doesn’t believe in keeping harmony with nature and its rhythm whereas Copenhagen has achieved it quite gracefully. The city is a modern settlement yet in the lap of nature.
Copenhagen is a perfect city for the tourists to get a glimpse of the modern architectural oasis in the middle of a number of lakes and green spaces. History, literature, architecture, nature, food and beer, this city has the masters from all fields of art. Dotted with fairytale-like palaces and gardens, the imperial architecture of Copenhagen is a sight to devour. Be it the Frederiksborg Palace or Rosenborg Castle, the awe-inspiring architecture is completely unmatched. While the city loves its open sky, no building beyond 5-6 floors is ever built in Copenhagen.
Free pure air, water, recreation areas, parks, lakes, towns to a never-ending list of free things to do, this city is a touristic masterpiece.
While I would not want you to miss some of the iconic places worth spending money, the free things to do here are also should not be missed. However, almost all the places in Copenhagen turn free for you if you are a Copenhagen Cardholder.
Hostel culture was a happening phenomenon in Europe way before it flourished like a Wisteria in India. Cool bars, happening common areas, gaming zone, community kitchen and a variety of outdoor activities, hostels in Europe provides the best of it. I have experienced the stays in different hostels from Spain to Germany. A few hostels were an amazing experience with the most enthusiastic staff while others hostels had more of a laidback atmosphere. Read more
I have travelled the Asian Countries on a shoe-string budget without much hassle. Of course, the Indian Rupee isn’t that weak in the continent.
It was really a headache when I had to realise my much-awaited dream of solo Backpacking to Europe on a budget. From hostels, transportation to food everything that I had found was cheap as per European standards. However, when it was converted into INR, it was a burden on my pocket for sure.
